MEET Jeff Schultz

Jeff Schultz’s journey in the world of movement, choreography, and performance began in Santa Barbara, California, where his passion for the stage ignited at the young age of 10. His early experiences involved both performing onstage and working behind the scenes in theatrical settings. This early exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong dedication to the arts.
After his formative years in California, Jeff embarked on a journey across the nation, immersing himself in different cultures and communities. He eventually pursued higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Jeff's academic pursuits were diverse, spanning disciplines such as neurosciences, somatic therapy, education, dance history, kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biology. His studies reflected a holistic approach to understanding the mind-body connection and the therapeutic potential of movement.
During his time at UCSB, Jeff engaged in various extracurricular activities, including working in a Behavioral Endocrinology lab, directing an international dance/health/activism organization on campus, and creating multimedia performance art through the intersection of arts and technology.
Jeff's educational journey continued as he recently completed a Master of Science degree in Psychology of Creativity, Neuroaesthetics, and Art from Goldsmiths, University of London. This advanced degree equipped him with a deeper understanding of the psychological underpinnings of creativity and the intersection of art and neuroscience.
Currently, Jeff is dedicated to utilizing his expertise to make a positive impact on individuals, particularly adolescents, by employing movement therapy to address traumatic events and complex emotions. His work extends beyond traditional therapy settings to include live installations and events that integrate multimedia arts and technology (MAT) to create immersive experiences.
With over 8 years of experience as a performer and choreographer, and 10 years of teaching under his belt, Jeff has worked with a diverse range of communities and individuals. From underserved youth to professional artists, his collaborative projects have included performances and choreography for music/arts festivals, music videos, private events, and charities. Jeff's repertoire spans various movement forms, including dance, aerial arts, parkour, and more.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Jeff's interests include surfing, free diving, dirt biking, skateboarding, wrestling, running, and any other form of movement. He is passionate about helping others discover the transformative power of movement as a holistic approach to health, self-expression, and personal growth.
Jeff approaches his work with confidence, creativity, and a commitment to fostering supportive environments that promote spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being. He thrives on the opportunity to collaborate, grow as an artist, and contribute to spaces that have a positive impact all involved.
